Who should compare IVPN
IVPN is relevant to readers who put account minimization and understandable privacy controls ahead of a large entertainment-focused feature list. Its signup does not require an email address and its apps are published as open source. Those are useful properties to investigate, but they are not a promise of anonymity in every online activity.
A VPN changes the network path. It does not erase a signed-in account, a payment record or a document you upload. Begin with a specific goal, such as limiting what a local network can observe about your connections, then decide whether the provider’s model and controls fit that goal.
The plan structure has changed
The current pricing page lists Standard, Plus and Pro Suite. Standard includes multi-hop and AntiTracker with five devices; the higher offers add services such as modDNS and email aliases, and Pro Suite lists ten devices. This differs from older comparisons that describe multi-hop as exclusive to an earlier Pro plan.
Treat each extra as another product to evaluate. A separate DNS service or email alias system has its own configuration and recovery needs. If you only need the VPN, buying more services may add complexity without addressing another problem. Save the current plan description with your receipt so future changes are easier to interpret.
Multi-hop is a routing choice
A multi-hop setup routes a connection through more than one VPN endpoint. It can be useful for a particular privacy model, but extra routing is not a free speed upgrade. Test whether the resulting latency is acceptable for calls and other interactive tasks on the network you actually use.
Imagine a remote worker switching between document editing and a live meeting. A configuration that works well for one may be less convenient for the other. Decide what the additional routing is intended to achieve before making it a default, and learn how the app shows the active route.

Filtering and limits to understand
AntiTracker is a DNS-based filtering component. It is distinct from a browser extension that changes page elements. IVPN’s current documentation also states that it has no port forwarding and offers no streaming compatibility guarantee. Those limits should be considered before committing to the service.
If a blocked domain causes a sign-in or payment page to fail, make a narrowly scoped change and confirm the outcome. Turning off every protection at once makes the cause harder to identify. Keep a list of exceptions and remove ones you no longer need.
How we would evaluate the fit
Start with the core VPN on one device. Check reconnecting after sleep, a Wi-Fi change, ordinary browsing and your most important call application. Only after those are understood should you compare multi-hop or add another privacy service. Record the configuration along with any failure so support has something reproducible to investigate.
Our view: IVPN is worth shortlisting for its account model and documented controls, provided those match your needs. Compare Mullvad if simple billing is your main priority, or PIA if device allowance matters more. We have not measured performance or audited the service ourselves, and do not convert published transparency claims into a made-up review score.
